School
Backpack Drive - Get the #2 Lead Out!
60
backpacks and lots of other assorted school supplies, plus funds
to be used for future needs were delivered to the Kaw Valley Center
in Olathe. Kaw Valley places children in foster homes when
the need arises. These backpacks were distributed to the children
so they were able to start the school year with all the supplies
they will need to succeed in school! |
Food
Baskets!
Rolling
Hills began collecting food baskets each holiday season in 1983.
Over 3,100 baskets but more importantly, 3100 families have been
helped through this outreach to our community!
The
Johnson County Division on Aging assists us as we distribute baskets
to families on public assistance and older adults who receive help
through the Meals on Wheels program in Johnson County.

2007
Easter Offering - Purchase of a van for the Arts in Prison program The Arts in Prison program (AiP) has been selected for the Rolling Hills 2007 Easter Offering. The offering will go toward purchasing a van needed to transport supplies, artwork and volunteers.
AiP is a nonprofit organization that provides educational and personal growth opportunities for prisoner inmates through the arts. The program consists of the East Hill Singers (who gave a performance at Rolling Hills in January), visual arts, and other fine arts opportunities for inmates at Lansing State Prison in Kansas. Sculpture, painting, drawing and writing are some of the classes AiP offers.
The East Hill Singers perform four concerts outside the prison yearly and several concerts within the prison walls. AiP art is on display at all concerts and at galleries throughout Kansas City. |
