The sympathy of the congregation is also extended to Jack Schroeder on the death of his wife, Dorothy. A Memorial Service for Dorothy Schroeder will be held on Thursday, Feb. 2 at 1:00pm in the Murphy Chapel.

● The Chancel Flowers this week are given in honor of Troop 387 for Boy Scout Sunday. To honor an occasion or memorialize a loved one with flowers in the Chancel, contact the Church Office for details and the availability of your Sunday of choice.
 Sunday morning curbside assistance: Watch for these 
helpers -- they'll also watch for you. To be a helper, contact Dick Stone or call (913) 642-9248.
Children
● Children's Chapel after "A Time for Children" during the
   8:45 & 10:45am services
● Sunday School for K-5 at 9:45
● Nursery care and preschool classes available during the
   8:45 & 10:45am services and the 9:45am education hour.  
Youth
 Dinner Theater Cast rehearsals will be on Wednesday nights
   from 7:00-9:00p and Sundays from 10:45am-2:00pm ish. 
● Youth are invited to sit with their families or friends during the 8:45 or 10:45am services in the Sanctuary. 
● Church School at 9:45 am for 6/7th, 8th, and 9-12th grades
 Sunday Fellowship: SOUPer Bowl Sunday
JRS & SRS meet at 11:45am at Rolling Hills. Youth will have lunch then take the donated "SOUPer Bowl" cans to the Village Food Pantry. Youth will return around 1:15pm. Bring $1 to cover lunch costs.

- Race To Nowhere Follow-Up Panel Discussion, Feb. 5

         Join in a conversation with Dr. Ramon Corrales, PJ Born, 
         Emily Nelson Dixon, and Kathleen Murphy as they address
         the content of the documentary 
Race To Nowhere. Even if you
         are unable to make it to the screening on Thursday, Feb. 2,
         please take part in this important discussion about the high-
         pressure educational environment our young people face
         today. Held in the Fireside Room.


       - Coming of Age: Kick-Off of Session One           
         
         This program is for Rolling Hills guests and members, age
         fifty or
 older, who are interested in planning their next life
         stages. This session begins the February Series of four, two-
         hour classes. There is no cost for Session One, and has
         room for 30 participants. Meets in the Children's Activity
         Center (Lower Level). 

 

- Presidential Campaign Songs, Jan. 29-Feb 5

  Led by Dick Bond, this two week class will offer a fun,

  musical program will begin with Jefferson's campaign in 1800

  and conclude with Kennedy & Johnson's campaign in 1960.  

  Meets in the Murphy Chapel.

 

-Music and the Arts in Christianity, Jan. 15- Feb. 5

 Come and explore Christianity's impact on music and art    throughout the ages. Facilitated by Julie Flanagan of the  Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art. Meets in Room D. 

  

-Sojourners, Ongoing

 This new Sunday morning class will focus on social justice  issues. Join us on Jan. 29 & Feb. 5 as Linda Friedel and  Kathy Hermes share their stories after their life-changing  trip

 to Guatemala.Meets in Room B. 

 

-Scripture Play led by Abbey Abendroth, Ongoing  

 This class will continue from the fall semester and study the

 Scripture featured in Worship each week. Meets in Room 101.

 

-Growing in Faith led by Rev. Gene Augustine, Ongoing  

 Join Gene Augustine for this continuing discussion on what it

 means to be a Christian in today's world and how we can

 deepen our faith. Meets in Room C. 

Tonight! Race To Nowhere

Race to Nowhere is a documentary film examining the pressures faced by young people, teachers and parents in our high pressure public and private education system and culture.Rolling Hills will offer a free screening of the film for the public TONIGHT, Thursday, February 2nd at 7:00 p.m in the Sanctuary. A panel of guests will view the film and help lead a follow up discussion on Sunday, February 5th at 9:45 a.m. To reserve your free ticket visit

Cereal Sunday is Coming!

This Sunday, Feb. 5 will be Cereal Sunday at Rolling Hills! Please bring healthy cereals or boxes of hot cereal to the Narthex. Any cereal collected will then be given to the Village Food Pantry. Rolling Hills donated 96 boxes of cereal last month, bringing your total donation to 1431 boxes since Cereal Sundays began. This has saved the Food Pantry from having to buy 26 entire days' worth of cereal, saving them about $2600. Way to go Rolling Hills! 

 

SOUPer Bowl Sunday Food Drive

The Rolling Hills Youth invite you to put the SOUP in SOUPer Bowl Sunday by bringing in canned goods over the next few weeks to restock the shelves at Village Food Pantry. RH Youth will deliver your donations to the Village Food Pantry on Super Bowl Sunday, Feb. 5th. Please bring your donations to the Narthex and use them to "vote" for who you think will be the winner of this year's Super Bowl! Thank you in advance for supporting our local food pantry that helps so many in the Kansas City area. 
KC Chorale Concert at Rolling Hills
Rolling Hills Friends of Music & the Arts will host the Kansas City Chorale in "Chant & Beyond" on Tuesday, February 7. The concert starts at 7:00pm followed by a reception in the Fireside Room. Rolling Hills members may pick up a free ticket in the Church Office between now and Feb. 7. Tickets are also available for $10 at the door. Please feel free to invite friends to this wonderful performance!
Coming of Age at Rolling Hills 
Coming Of Age 
Coming of Age promotes civic involvement, lifelong learning, and community leadership in the 50+ population. Come and share your wisdom, dreams, and aspirations during a four-part series of workshops offered three differnt times on February 5, 12, 19, and 26 from 9:45-11:45am; March 4, 11, 18, and 25 from 9:45-11:45am; and April 4, 11, 18, and 25 from 10:00am-Noon. Annual RH Youth  Dinner Theater
Save the date for the 9th Annual Rolling Hills Youth Dinner Theater on Saturday, February 25th & Sunday, February 26th at 5:30pm. It's sure to be a night of great food, fun, and fellowship! Tickets are $20 for adults, $10 for children ages 10 & under. All proceeds go to fund the 2012 Youth Service Trip to Sheridan, WY!
